A to-do list that makes you decide

A priority to-do list built around urgent vs. important

Most to-do lists capture tasks faster than they clarify them. 4planner requires two quick decisions for every task, then shows exactly what to do, schedule, delegate, or eliminate.

01

Why a normal to-do list becomes overwhelming

A flat list gives “prepare for next quarter” and “reply to a routine message” the same visual weight. As the list grows, recency and anxiety begin to masquerade as priority. The result is a complete inventory of work without a reliable way to choose the next action.

4planner turns priority into required structure. A task cannot be created until you decide whether it is important and whether it is urgent. Those answers remain visible in the normal to-do-list view and place the same task in its Eisenhower Matrix quadrant.

02

Four priority states, not an arbitrary score

Important + urgent

Do first

Meaningful work with a real near-term consequence.

Important + not urgent

Schedule

High-value work that needs protected time before it becomes urgent.

Not important + urgent

Delegate

Time-sensitive work that does not require your personal attention.

Not important + not urgent

Eliminate

Low-value work to remove, reduce, or consciously defer.

03

Still a fast, practical to-do list

Priority structure does not replace everyday usability. Search tasks by name, filter any combination of quadrants and lists, expand subtasks only when needed, attach date-only deadlines, edit task details, and complete or delete work directly from the list.

The Free plan includes the complete priority task system. Calendar scheduling, delegation tracking, and unlimited custom lists are available with Pro.

04

Use the list for action and the matrix for perspective

The linear view is efficient when you know what you need to work through. The matrix view is better for seeing whether urgent work is crowding out important preparation. Both views use the same tasks and completion state, so you can switch without maintaining a second system.

Start with the next task

Decide what matters. Then give it time.
